Crossing East Wins 2006 George Foster Peabody Award

Crossing East is the first public radio series on Asian American History and is a groundbreaking series of eight documentary reports. Mary Stucky of Round Earth Productions produced two segments for the Peabody-winning series.

The Hmong is the story of the Yang family, immigrants from Laos to St. Paul, Minnesota, the capital of Hmong America.

The Tea House Restaurant in Plymouth, Minnesota near Minneapolis, is run by two sisters, Yolanda Wang and Melissa Ho. For many immigrants from China, running a restaurant has often been the only way for families to earn a living.

About Us
Our stories air on popular public radio programs nationwide, reaching influential listeners who demand high quality news coverage. Because of our innovative distribution network, we also connect with people who do not listen to public radio and who, in today’s journalistic climate, are not normally receiving much news from outside the United States or about diverse cultures within our own country.
